HCA Artist Collective

April 27th - August 30th

34 Hayden Rowe
Hopkinton, MA

The theme for this exhibition is "Wanderlust: Artists and Travel". This is artwork inspired by travels or desire to travel.

Who is the HCA Artist Collective?

Our collective began with students and has grown to include volunteers, HCA members and local artists that want to support the Visual Arts at the HCA. We believe that art can spark connection, confidence, and meaningful friendships.

Art isn’t just something you make. It’s something you share. Please join us!

STUDIO 34 is a project run by the HCA Artist Collective to bring artwork from our community into the MetroWest area.

Why did I choose these pieces?

For this show, I chose to submit pieces from my Sculpture Park Series, specifically those from Storm King, which is based in the Hudson Valley. The pieces selected were Bare Branches, Deep Reflections & Horizon of Art & Nature #1 . Due to the vast acres Storm King has, they are able support site specific sculpture that may not be possible or may feel overwhelming in smaller venues. I felt that these site specific pieces may inspire travel to close to where I grew up or to De Cordova in Lincoln for a closer to home trip.

Bare Branches, Deep Reflections
$75.00

This striking image, captured at Storm King Sculpture Park, presents a captivating interplay between stark natural form and tranquil reflection. A solitary, bare-branched tree stands prominently against a bright green grassy hill and a dramatic cloudy sky, its intricate silhouette hinting at the cycle of seasons. Its reflection on the still water below is almost perfectly mirrored, creating a powerful sense of symmetry and depth. In the background, a large abstract sculpture subtly emerges from the landscape, characteristic of Storm King's iconic blend of art and nature, inviting viewers to ponder both the natural world and human creativity.

Horizon of Art and Nature #1
$75.00

This expansive photograph from Storm King Sculpture Park blends the grandeur of the landscape with monumental art. In the foreground, a vast expanse of meticulously maintained green and golden fields leads the eye toward the horizon. Dominating the middle ground is a striking, triangular steel sculpture, its stark lines a powerful counterpoint to the organic curves of the rolling hills and dense forests that stretch into the misty distance. The dramatic cloudy sky adds an atmospheric depth, highlighting the seamless integration of human creativity within the breathtaking natural environment that defines Storm King.
