The Bridge Church Middleboro: Hope Lives Juried Exhibition

EXHIBIT DATES: April 3 - April 10, 2026 at the Bridge Church in Middleboro, Massachusetts

This exhibit aims to embody Hope Lives, as interpreted by the artist.

This Juried Art Show accepted Drawings, Paintings, and Photographs. It was organized by Pastor Heather Konieczka of The Bridge Church through a grant from the Middleborough Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by Mass Cultural Council.

The Bridge invited the public and artists to attend the April 3rd reception and awards. Awards include Ribbons and monetary prizes for the following categories:

  • 1st place painting

  • 1st place drawing

  • 1st place photography

  • Viewer’s Choice

While I did not win any of the categories, I’m so happy I applied and that they will be viewed by the community over the Easter Holiday.

The exhibition will be open from April 3rd - April 10th.

I chose to exhibit the following pieces because to me they symbolize the hope I feel across my different photography series. Below each I’ve included a specific reason!

France Series

Resilience of Notre Dame

This poignant photograph captures the iconic towers of Notre Dame Cathedral, standing majestically against a cloudy sky, hinting at the ongoing restoration following the devastating fire. Taken from outside the cathedral, the image showcases the intricate Gothic architecture, partially framed by lush green trees and blooming white flowers in the foreground. It's a powerful testament to the enduring spirit and beauty of this historic landmark, even as it undergoes a process of healing and renewal.

Sculpture Park Series

Winter Hearts #1
$100.00

This evocative photograph captures Jim Dine’s iconic bronze sculpture, Two Big Black Hearts, transformed by the New England winter. Traditionally known for their dense, textured surfaces—cast from everyday objects like tools, hands, and smaller hearts—the sculptures are here redefined by a heavy mantle of snow. The image highlights the dramatic contrast between the deep, obsidian bronze and the brilliant white drifts. Framed by a delicate web of snow-covered branches, the hearts appear both monumental and vulnerable. The image serves as a poetic meditation on love and endurance, showing how even the heaviest forms can be softened by the quiet touch of nature.

I grew up near a beautiful sculpture park in NY and I feel like people don’t always know about them in their own backyard. I find a walk around a sculpture park can show us a beauty we don’t always get to experience. This one is in Lincoln, MA at the De Cordova.

During the pandemic, my spouse Alex and I would go on walks in nature. We were quarantined away in different households at the time, so these walks gave me hope that we’d be able to be together again. We passed this sunflower many times on our walks, so to me it is a crystalized moment of time when we needed hope.
