Mojave Ascendant

A solitary bird cuts a dramatic silhouette against a dynamic sky in Joshua Tree National Park, its wings outstretched in a powerful ascent. Bathed in the ethereal glow of the unseen Mohave desert sun, bordered by soft, iridescent clouds, the image captures a moment of pure freedom and the breathtaking beauty of nature's unyielding spirit.

Frog on the Water Line
In the Secret Garden pond at the New England Botanical garden, a frog breaks the glassy surface. The minimalist composition draws focus to the stark contrast between the vibrant, watchful creature and the inky depths it calls home, evoking a sense of calm observation and hidden life.Medium: Photography, 2023Limited Edition Print: 1,000, 8×10

Hopkinton Center for the Arts was seeking work to be shown in the brand new Rapscallion Kitchen and Bar at 22 South Street in Hopkinton. They put together an amazing show that showcased the HCA visual art community.

As my first every art show, they provided a lovely and welcoming space to get my feet in the water of the art world.

I chose these two pieces because I felt that they fit the theme of Rapscallions. Playing with the idea of mischievousness, having a portrait of a beautiful soaring bird with a floating frog, tickled me as a bit silly as a comparison point of the beauty of nature.

Featured in The Wonder Within: HCA Art Fundraiser

November 25th - December 18th

Our founder, Kristin, with shoulder-length dark hair smiling in front of a wall displaying three framed photographs at an art gallery.

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts opened a call to their artists to donate artwork for their Annual Winter Art Auction & Fundraiser. This year, the gallery director chose the theme of "The Wonder Within,", following their core value to Inspire the Wonder Within.

I chose pieces from my France Series because of the wonder I felt within the country, exploring their parks, chateaus and ancient forts. France was the reason I started photography and has been a touchstone for many of my artistic endeavors.
