The Idea Kitchen: Evident Nature Juried Exhibition
Curated by Allison Belolan
February 2nd - April 30th
The Idea Kitchen
Larchmont, NY
A group exhibition celebrating artists who investigate the natural world with curiosity, rigor, and wonder.
Evident Nature explores the intersection of art and science, the investigative and the aesthetic. This exhibition focuses on the artists that approach the natural world as both subject and collaborator—those who reveal hidden systems, document ephemeral moments, or celebrate the resilient life that persists in unexpected places.
I submitted “Heart of the Bromeliad” because of the quality of detail in this botanical observation. Bromeliads have shapes that you want to touch to check whether they really are real. In exchange for a bit of light and a drop of water, they treat you to spectacular colours and a tropical feel. There are more than 2800 specie and the flowers themselves are very small. You need to really zoom in and take time to observe the beauty of this evident nature.
